Painting, printing and creative fabric mural work were my majors during the years of art study. In Townsville, I continued work on my creative murals and was awarded first prize in a Pacific Festival Fibres and Fabrics competition. I went on to adjudicate the children’s section of the competition. The fast-drying process of acrylic medium suits my lively, impressionistic style.
I have always loved colour, vibrant images along with the effect of light and shadows. No subject is out of bounds, but everyday connections are important in my art works.
Subjects include flora and fauna from life in and around our two-acre garden in the beautiful surrounds of Samford Valley and overseas along with compositions from objets d’art collected in the studio. Painting and teaching are my passions in equal measure with a dose of French added to the mix.
